Where does the software get installed?
The software is installed on your desktop and can be installed on as many computers as you like. The initial installation requires a login that has DBA privileges to your Connectwise Microsoft SQL Server database. Once the connection to the database is made, subsequent installations do not require any special privileges. Licensing is based on the number of active users in Connectwise.
KiPI is extremely easy to download and load on to your local system. You can download the software directly from this Web site, then run the installation on the system that you would like to use it on. The initial installation requires a login that has DBA privileges to your Connectwise Microsoft SQL Server database. Once the connection to the database is made, subsequent installations do not require any special privileges.
What are the system requirements?
System requirements are a PC with connectivity to SQL Server and an SSL Certificate enabled for Connectwise. The only real requirement is that the software point to your Connectwise database.
Does the developer have access to your Connectwise database?
VerityThree in no way has access to your Connectwise database.
How does pricing work for KiPI?
We wanted to keep our pricing as simple as possible, and make it financially easy for small to mid-sized businesses to handle. For these reasons, we have chosen to go with a montly subscription model. For $125 per month, you can have as many people in your organization use KiPI as you like. You will get all updates and enhancements as they are released, there is no long-term committment, you can cancel at any time.

Our application uses a managed ID to log in to SQL, the setup process will create that for you. For the Connectwise piece, we are doing authentication using the Connectwise APIs. In future releases will have incremental security of some type.
We are using queries against custom designed KiPI views. Queries come back to a grid that can be grouped, sorted and filtered as you see fit. From there, we also allow each grid to be exported to Excel for further analysis. We initially envisioned KiPI as a gateway to get to the data quickly. We realize that we can’t answer every question, but the export feature allows users to do their own analysis as needed.
Does KiPI provide a dashboard or full reporting capabilities?
KiPI is not just a dashboard tool, it has full reporting capabilities. KiPI Dashboard tools will continue to be enhanced with future releases of the product, however, the most important thing for us to be able to do as a company was to see our data, sort it, and be able to delve into it. This is where we focused our development efforts.
What can KiPI do that I can’t do with Excel pivot tables?
Excel pivot tables are great, but not everyone has the skill or the time to connect to SQL Server using Excel and extract raw data to be analyzed. We also continue to work on the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) model in KiPI so that you can see things like revenue per employee or gross margin per employee. This has been a challenge since the COGS model can vary greatly from company to company. We feel that the real value of KiPI is that you can get to the data very quickly and easily, then use the the way you want to use it.
